Philip and his team are trying to devise a new system to help the owners of these helpless pets. According to the custom, the pets are identified by the tags around their necks. But the latest development by Philip and his team will enable the owners to use facial recognition to identify their loving pets. The use of facial recognition instead of tags will be more helpful and beneficial. Philip Rooyakkers PiP launched a campaign today. It is known as Indiegogo campaign. The company with their pioneering effort is hoping to raise $100,000 in the coming month, which will enable the firm to take their venture a step further. PiP has planned to create and develop a new software application, with the help of which the search and the recognition procedure can be made a lot easier.

The app is developed by image recognition professional Dr. Daesik Jang. The innovative technology can recognize almost 98 per cent of cats and dogs. The latest app needs other data like, breed, color, size, weight and gender etc. This shows that the current app of PiP can virtually recognize every lost pet.

To take the help of this progressive application the owners have to register with Pip. They are to pay a monthly subscription of $1.49 to Pip. The latter will forward 2 per cent of this amount to local pet rescue charities. This will enable them to upload the photos of their pets to the system. The database of the app stores the facial and other crucial info of the pet.

As soon as the pet is, lost PiP will alert the local animal control and other rescue agencies, vets and social media outlets. Here comes the function of “Amber Alert “, which will give a pop-up alert to everyone in the locality possessing this app. If any person comes across the lost pet then he will be able to contact the owner directly. Pip will use its facial recognition technology to find out from its database if it can match the unique features of the pet.

In addition to PiP’s unique method, there are other ways of finding out lost animals. They are ID Tags and microchip implants. Philip’s technique is lot faster and easier compared to the other procedures. Not all the clinics are equipped to judge the variable standards of the microchips. But facial recognition does not have such drawbacks. No such special equipment is required to scan the animals.
