Mahindra XUV500 is almost certainly among the best that you can drive on Indian roads. The ‘double O’ is on the top in terms of design, comfort and road presence. Mahindra XUV 500 is powered by a 2179cc mHawk engine. The seating comes with good lumbar support and is comfortable, but the third row passengers could feel a little discomfort. The Mahindra Xylo is another 7-seater from the same brand but with more space, even in the last row. All three seats offer good legroom and headroom. The Xylo offers three different diesel engine options across variants. The D2 variant has a 2,489 cc, 4-cylinder motor with 95 bhp of power and 220 Nm of torque. The E4 and E8 variants have a 2,498 cc motor with 112 bhp of power and 260 Nm torque and the E9 sports variant has a 2,179 cc motor than makes 120 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque. The price varies from Rs. 7.50 lakh to Rs. 10.52 lakh.
Toyota Innova is another well accepted SUV that has good handling and comfort. The Innova is available both in an 1,998 cc motor petrol that makes 131 bhp of power and 181 Nm of torque petrol and a 2,494 cc diesel motor that makes 101 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. The last row of seats in the Innova does not offer great legroom. Price range is in the Rs.9.34 lakh to Rs. 13.84 lakh bracket.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has already garnered a lot of interest. This 7-seater SUV has a petrol version powered by a 1,373 cc, 4-cylinder motor that generates 94 bhp of power and 130 nm and a diesel one powered by a 1,248 cc, 4-cylinder motor that makes 89 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. Though the vehicle can seat 7 passengers, the last row of seats is best suited for kids. Price is from Rs. 5.92 lakh to Rs. 8.63 lakh.
